Association of infant and young child feeding practices with cognitive development at 10-12 years: a birth cohort in rural Western China. Publication
ID31831094Published Date2020-04-14JournalThe British journal of nutrition, 2020-04-14, Volume 123
We aimed to comprehensively examine the association of breast-feeding, types and initial timing of complementary foods with adolescent cognitive development in low- and middle-income countries. We conducted a prospective cohort study of 745 adolescents aged 10-12 years who were born to women who participated in a randomised trial of prenatal micronutrient supplementation in rural Western China. An infant feeding index was constructed based on the current WHO recommendations. Full-scale intell…
Targeting CD300f to enhance hematopoietic stem cell transplantation in acute myeloid leukemia Publication
Abstract Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (allo-HSCT) significantly reduces the rate of relapse in acute myeloid leukemia (AML) but comes at the cost of significant treatment-related mortality. Despite the reduction in relapse overall, it remains common, especially in high-risk groups. The outcomes for patients who relapse after transplant remains very poor. A large proportion of the morbidity that prevents most patients from accessing allo-HSCT is due to toxic nonspecific c…
Copper-doped ZrO nanoparticles as high-performance catalysts for efficient removal of toxic organic pollutants and stable solar water oxidation. Publication
ID31941628Published Date2020-04-15JournalJournal of environmental management, 2020-04-15, Volume 260
Doping effect on the photoelectrochemical (PEC) water splitting efficiency and photocatalytic activities of ZrO under visible light are reported. The XRD analysis revealed that pure, 0.1 and 0.3 mol% doped samples showed mixed crystal phases (tetragonal and monoclinic) and 0.5 mol% doped sample showed a pure tetragonal phase. Under visible light, 90% of methyl orange dye degradation was achieved with in 100 min. Moreover, the optimal doped sample showed a significant degradation rate constant…
Fluorescence-Based Determination of Olive Oil Quality Using an Endoscopic Smart Mobile Spectrofluorimeter Publication
IDIEEE:8938727Published Date2020-04-15JournalIEEE Sensors Journal, 2020-04-15, Volume 20
The application of self-contained field-portable, internet connected spectroscopic diagnostics in food analysis using a fibre endoscopic smart fluorimeter is reported. A UV-induced fluorescence is used to measure the quality of olive oils, distinguishing between extra virgin and others within a smartphone platform. When excited at $\lambda \sim ~370$ nm, the extra virgin olive oil fluoresces red at $\lambda \sim ~670$ nm. Notably, other oils do not fluoresce red but rather blue, consistent wi…
Brain GABA and glutamate levels across pain conditions: A systematic literature review and meta-analysis of 1H-MRS studies using the MRS-Q quality assessment tool. Publication
ID31958584Published Date2020-04-15JournalNeuroImage, 2020-04-15, Volume 210
A proposed mechanism of chronic pain is dysregulation between the main inhibitory (GABA) and excitatory (glutamate) neurometabolites of the central nervous system. The level of these neurometabolites appears to differ in individual studies of people with pain compared to pain-free controls across different pain conditions. However, this has yet to be systematically investigated. To establish whether GABA, glutamate, glutamine and Glx levels differ across pain conditions when compared to pain-f…
Managing multifunctional landscapes: Local insights from a Pacific Island Country context. Publication
ID32090791Published Date2020-04-15JournalJournal of environmental management, 2020-04-15, Volume 260
Across Pacific Island Countries, projects and policies are incorporating objectives related to managing landscape multifunctionality to sustain flows of multiple, valued ecosystem services. Strategies to manage natural resources are often not effective, or do not have intended outcomes, if they do not account for local contexts and the varied needs and constraints of stakeholders who rely upon natural resources for their livelihoods. Through fieldwork in Ba, Fiji, local insights were generate…
Testing a model of fear of cancer recurrence or progression: the central role of intrusions, death anxiety and threat appraisal. Publication
ID31907743Published Date2020-04-01JournalJournal of behavioral medicine, 2020-04-01, Volume 43
We recently proposed a model of cancer-related anxiety to account for the etiology and maintenance of clinically significant anxiety in the context of cancer. This study tested predictions arising from the model to explain fear of cancer recurrence or progression (FCR). Patients with cancer were recruited from a research registry or outpatient hospital clinics (n = 211). In bivariate analyses, FCR was associated with metacognitive beliefs, intolerance of uncertainty, core belief disruption, l…
Acceptability of the copper intrauterine device as a form of emergency contraception in New South Wales, Australia. Publication
ID32072848Published Date2020-04-01JournalThe European journal of contraception & reproductive health care : the official journal of the European Society of Contraception, 2020-04-01, Volume 25
The copper-intrauterine device (Cu-IUD) is the most effective emergency contraception (EC), and the only method providing ongoing contraception; however, it is underutilised in Australia. An online cross-sectional survey of clients and clinicians at a family planning service was undertaken. Clients aged 16-55 and identifying as female or transgender male were eligible. The survey explored previous experience with and knowledge of the Cu-IUD as EC among clients, current EC practices among clin…
The differential impact of major life events on cognitive and affective wellbeing. Publication
ID31909168Published Date2020-04-01JournalSSM - population health, 2020-04-01, Volume 10
Major life events affect our wellbeing. However the comparative impact of different events, which often co-occur, has not been systematically evaluated, or studies assumed that the impacts are , that different wellbeing domains are equally affected, and that individuals exhibit . We evaluated the individual and conditional impact of eighteen major life-events, and compared their effects on in a large population-based cohort using fixed-effect regression models assessing within person change. …
 Bayesian Local Sampling-Based Planning Publication
IDIEEE:8968445Published Date2020-04-01JournalIEEE Robotics and Automation Letters, 2020-04-01, Volume 5
Sampling-based planning is the predominant paradigm for motion planning in robotics. Most sampling-based planners use a global random sampling scheme to guarantee probabilistic completeness. However, most schemes are often inefficient as the samples drawn from the global proposal distribution, and do not exploit relevant local structures. Local sampling-based motion planners, on the other hand, take sequential decisions of random walks to samples valid trajectories in configuration space. How…
