Dan Dugan invented the automatic microphone mixer nearly five decades ago. Dugan automixers provide smooth, seamless transitions between multiple live microphones, regardless of the pace of speech or the volume of the talkers, without up-cutting or shifts in background noise. "Dugans" connect to the insert points of mixing consoles, allowing operators to continue to use familiar equipment. Dugan automixers are available with analogue, AES, MADI and Dante I/O. In addition to manufacturing his own products and plug-in cards for other consoles, Dan Dugan licenses his technology to other manufacturers to build in to their products, including Yamaha, Protech Audio, Sound Devices, and Waves.
